Jun. 7th, 2003 09:02 pmMy wife, once again, retains her crown as Iron Chef Mid-West. She started in a fairly traditional manner with Fresh Salted Tomatoes Bathed in Balsamic Vinegar and Dried Basil (the fresh basil died). She followed with Sesame Braised Red Russian Kale. Finally, she proved her status as Iron Chef Mid-West with an innovative main course, Baked Tater-Tots with Fresh Curds in Marsala Tamarind Sauce. It's worth pointing out that moving between the dishes tasted like an Asian land war in my mouth. However, each individual dish performed well by itself, particularly the bizarre, yet surprisingly tasty, final course.
