I have enjoyed each of the three times I've been in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach area. Perhaps I've only seen the pleasant facade created for tourists :)

Although I did wonder how Virginia Beach locals get any sleep with the constant thunder of low flying military jets. Maybe my visit coincided with a period of unusually high air activity?
