Goggles at the blender sounds like a fine idea. I'm so glad I didn't get those peppers in my eyes. Now that I know the pain was harmless and temporary, I have no problem looking back and laughing. And it hasn't scared me away. I still enjoy a good spicy pepper and I continue to make that recipe, making certain I add some hot ones to get the same bite I got from those mutant banana peppers.
