A very surreal moment: While taking my afternoon walk on this blustery winter day, the ground still wet with melting snow, a tumbleweed rolls past me down the driveway.

That dead plant really is one of the best gifts I've received.

How do you keep it from running away from home? Is it fenced in?

We currently have yard of grand proportions in which it rolls around. And, yes, there is a fence. Yesterday, it was heading for the end of the driveway, making to escape the yard, but if eventually veered off to the left. The wind seems pretty consistent around here. It usually ends up snagged on a downed branch or up against the fence in the front left corner of the yard, which is rather thick with trees.
