They say, "If you love something, set it free."

Our precious tumbleweed has finally flown the coop. Yesterday's wind carried it out of the yard. Perhaps even now it is rolling down the street, seeking its fortune. Of course, we were looking for it on the ground. Perhaps it's stuck in a tree like a kitten. If so, I intend to call the fire department to get it down. Or maybe it was on the ground and I just couldn't see it because my glasses are so scratched I wander around seeing the world as if I were wearing goggles full of spoiled milk.

Fare ye well, tumbleweed.

I feel very saddened by your loss. I do hope somebody finds it!

And I hope it is not being held for ransom either. That would be very low and inhumane.

Maybe I should shut up before I give you an ulcer...

I'm touched by all the support I'm receiving for losing the tumbleweed.

I'd be rather interested to know what kind of person would hold a tumbleweed for ransom. That's quite evil. Some old virginia coot shambling down his long farm driveway sees a tumbleweed roll by, "Well lookie there. Don't see dem aroun' hare. Must be someone dearly loves that weed to have brought it all da way out hare. I tink I will exploit that love. Ma! Get me mah shotgun and pitchfork, I'ma gonna be cruel today."

I'm almost certain of it. They won't give it back until I burn my Harry Potter books.
