Listening to Ministry's new album "Animositisomnia." Reminds me of the silly way I first discovered and fell in love with industrial music. Enigma helped introduce me. That's right, the ambient techno beats with gregorian chanting. Enigma's first album was and still is one of my favorites. After hearing Enigma, I wanted to find more ambient electronic music. One day I joined a few people for a roleplaying game. Playing softly in the background was Ministry's "Land of Rape and Honey." Being caught up in the game and the volume being low, I only really heard one of the more gentle tracks on the album which immediately triggered my desire to find Enigma-like music. So, with only a vague low-volume listen of one or two tracks from that Ministry album, I go out and buy it on impulse. I bring it home. Play it. It scares the piss out of me. Certainly not the Enigma-like music I was hoping for. Despite it continuing to scare the piss out of me, I kept listening to it. I loved it. Thus began my truly schizophrenic music taste...from liking Matthew Sweet & Ministry at the same time, to the more recent opposites of Tatu & Dillinger Escape Plan.

Matthew Sweet? As in the 'Sick of Myself' Matthew Sweet? I'd have never guessed! :)

I like it when people look through my music collection. I enjoy the bizarre looks on their faces as they try get their head around my varied tastes. :)

Yeah, that Matthew Sweet...but I'd call him the 'Girlfriend' Matthew Sweet. I really like his album 'Girlfriend.' I had that CD spinning for months back in high school (along side Ministry, of course). Some great alterna-pop-rock.

Hey, you'll have to dig that out when I come down. Maybe there's something I on there I can pick up and teach you on your twanger. I'm thinking about bringing my twanger, so we can have a twanging good time.

T :)

Never have truer words been spoken..."dig that out." I haven't unpacked CDs yet, so some digging will be necessary. Then again, maybe you labeled that box...I haven't checked them over yet.

I do need to get back to my twanger. I haven't played it much since we moved, as I'm trying to spend time unpacking the place.

Twang on!

Schizophrenic music--I can really appreciate that since my taste is a bit spread across the board myself. Still, reading this, I'd like to open my musical wings even more.

Krasota and I have a vast music collection and always keep an eye out for new sounds we don't have. If there's any particular genre you'd want suggestions for, we can probably offer some.

Go ahead. Add away. I don't post frequently, but when I do I aim to please (myself mostly...but others seem amused, too).

Since you seem so musically receptive, buy This (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005JA7D/qid=1051796605/sr=1-3/ref=sr_1_3/103-4838409-9904608?v=glance&s=music). I've been listening to it lately (again) and reminding myself it's the loudest, funniest, greatest album I've heard in a long time. We'll see how promiscuous you are! :)

All is as it should be then.

I will definitely check that out! From the info I read, it sounds like something I will enjoy. Thanks!
