Few are aware of my fondness for Russian pop musician Linda's music. When [livejournal.com profile] krasota was in Moscow several years ago, she bought a tape of Linda's simply because she was amused by the goth chick on the cover. She listened to it a few times, but I was not interested in it, so it was relegated to the tape pile.

Well, when I started experiencing anxiety problems, I probed our tape and CD collections for soothing and cheesy music. The wife suggested Linda. Wow. I have become an ardent fan. She actually uses a lot of Persian-influenced vocal styles in the background and the rhythm section is often anything but pop-ish. I have no idea what she's saying, but I make the wife enunciate the words clearly so I can sing along.

So, my Yaksmas present finally arrived from RussianFoods. I now have four Linda CDs! FOUR! Oh, frabjous day!

I'm going to let her type them out now, because I neither read, speak, nor understand Russian and I certainly can't type in Cyrillic.

(Well, screw that, the damn keyboard switcheroo is acting up again. I'll have to try this from a different machine. -Jos)

I suppose it doesn't matter, so long as she transcribes the titles eventually. She also has to translate all the songs for me. And write down phonetic lyrics so I can sing them. She claims that the songs aren't all happy and she won't translate the sad lyrics because it will turn me into a mopeygoth. Ah, well. I have my plethora of Linda.
