We don't sound quite like this live...we don't have that many layers of sound and good mixing to work with live, but we put on a good show.

We hijacked a few bedrooms, my lead singer's brother, and his computer. We did it all ourselves. 4 guys, a few instruments, and a lot of software. First of all, it really helps that the vocalist is a gifted song writer with amazing vision. He's one of these guys with entire songs and all their tracks just sitting in his head waiting to come out.

He uses software called Fruity Loops. Familiar with that one? It's one of those programs where you don't even need to know how to play an instrument. It has all built in sounds. He writes with that. So, a large part of the song comes straight from Fruity Loops. All the percussion/drums. That bell sound. The bass line. Might be a few other sounds here and there. All are Fruity Loops sounds.

I play only the live piano sound on that track. (I did that in one take, too...sometimes I surprise myself).

Live guitar. There are about 2 or 3 guitar tracks on there. Rhythm and lead are separate tracks at least.

There are about 2 or 3 live vocal tracks.

My singer's brother is becoming quite a talented mixer/producer. He took all the Fruity Loops tracks and all our live tracks, mixed them in some audio mixing software that I forget the name of, applied effects as needed, spent a lot of time tweaking levels here and there. And that's what came out at the end.

Yeah, I noticed some of the eq and compression levels stuff. But overall, I never thought my first band would sound this good.

I did exchange a few emails with Dave Devlin. I should send him the track. Thanks for the reminder. Glad you liked the song. Hopefully we'll have another one available in the next few weeks. We recorded two songs. The other one hasn't been mixed yet.
