False Alarm

HA HA I suck. The good news is the Satellite Ballroom is smoke-free. The bad news is Melt Banana plays tomorrow. So, I drank a beer and listened to some hippie jam band. The one arabic jam with drum & percussion solos was worth the $3. I think I was actually the only person there not in one of the two bands, a family member of the guys in the bands, or an employees of the venue. It amused me that a large portion of the paying audience (me) was accidentally there because he thought the hardcore show was tonight. Tomorrow, I try again. Four concerts in one week.

I don't know if you'll get to see Melt Banana. Maybe a little bit of them. Doors are at 8pm. If they are consistent with last night's schedule, then the first band will probably go on around 9pm. But there are two opening bands. The first two bands could be interesting, so it might be worth it to check it out if you're looking for something to do. But I don't know if you'll want to pay $10 for not seeing everything.

Not very rock n roll. It's a nice size space though and the sound was good. But the entire place is white. White everywhere. Smoking would turn it a dirty gray, which might be an improvement.

Apparently karma didn't care for my comment about your laptop being a sickly, frail child. We're suffering the logic board screen failure again. Do you have the means to take an iBook and (throw it off a building) connect it to an external display? I don't have any displays. If this is possible, I need to view some data before I send the machine in for repair and just copy it down onto good old reliable paper.

Did your iBook come with the video adapter? Mine's at work, but I can bring it home next time I'm that way. I have an old monitor that's attached to my G3 that you're welcome to come over and use, but you'll need the adapter to attach it.

I think it did come with the video adapter, but I need to look for it. It's probably in an unpacked box. I've never used it. I'll see if I can find it. Otherwise, I may wait until you're well enough to crawl into the office. Feel better, don't work too hard.

It was a great show. Easily one of my favorite shows in recent memory.
