Ecotourism Facilitator. That is my younger brother's new title as a member of the Peace Corps. He is leaving tomorrow morning for the remote mountains of Guatemala where he will stay for two years. My parents just don't understand him. They can't figure out why he doesn't get a nice 9 to 5 desk job. I can't wait to make their heads spin when I leave my stable job to join Cirque du Soleil. That is my inevitable future. Why do you think I'm doing all the yoga and singing lessons?

You're doing it to be mad flexible and loud so you can swing about and sing! I knew it all along!

Also, yay for your brother. I'd love to do something like that, but I haven't the personality nor health for it. All power to him!

Likewise. I'm not sure I could do it either. My brother is a mental and physical anomaly in my family.

Your brother sounds like my kinda people! His job sounds like heaven to me. My voice coach and spiritual guru was lead singer for Cirque du Soleil's "O" for a while. She's wandered yak trails in Nepal and been in revolutions in 3rd world countries.

You would love her and I know she'd adore you. You both have such delightfully twisted senses of humour. I'm certain she'll give you a stellar recommendation. When the time comes, just let me know.

That's one fascinating voice coach!

Yeah, my brother has refused settle down until he can make sure he's choosing a life that is ideal for him. Until then, he has traveled the country with outfits like Outward Bound, leading people on outdoor expeditions in Maine, Florida's Everglades, Wyoming, and Oregon to name but a few. Outside of his nomadic jobs, he's traveled and climbed mountains extensively in the West and barely survived one climbing trip in Chile. However, Guatemala might be his one last adventure before settling down and choosing a possible career path. Rest assured, whatever he chooses will not be 9-5, nor behind a desk :)
