Interesting Job of the Day

Ecotourism Facilitator. That is my younger brother's new title as a member of the Peace Corps. He is leaving tomorrow morning for the remote mountains of Guatemala where he will stay for two years. My parents just don't understand him. They can't figure out why he doesn't get a nice 9 to 5 desk job. I can't wait to make their heads spin when I leave my stable job to join Cirque du Soleil. That is my inevitable future. Why do you think I'm doing all the yoga and singing lessons?

Date: 2008-01-10 02:15 am (UTC)Yeah, my brother has refused settle down until he can make sure he's choosing a life that is ideal for him. Until then, he has traveled the country with outfits like Outward Bound, leading people on outdoor expeditions in Maine, Florida's Everglades, Wyoming, and Oregon to name but a few. Outside of his nomadic jobs, he's traveled and climbed mountains extensively in the West and barely survived one climbing trip in Chile. However, Guatemala might be his one last adventure before settling down and choosing a possible career path. Rest assured, whatever he chooses will not be 9-5, nor behind a desk :)
