Not long after I set out on my morning walk today a wee little grub caught my attention. Okay, it wasn't exactly wee. Nearly 2 inches long, white, and disturbingly translucent. What really caught my eye was the fact that little bastard was crawling around on his back, locomoting across my driveway with his little legs waving in the air and with an undulating backside. It fell over on its feet once, and struggled to get back on his back. So, I thought, this must be a particularly stupid grub. However, as I continued my walk I noticed several more, all crawling around on their backs. I guess they all travel that way, not stupid...just a weird habit, kinda like the upside catfish. So, I did a little research and it turns out they ARE stupid. These grubs are likely the larval stage of the giant beetles that crawl out of the ground in the summer and demonstrate their great flying skills by rocketing full speed into the side of our house, bouncing hard off the house a few times before they figure out just how to fly around it. So, yeah...stupid grubs yield stupid beetles.

*shudders in Lovecraftian terror at the idea of stupid butt-scooting grubs*

Yes, I shudder too. But they are oddly compelling. Nice to hear from you, so---

Yep. My worst phobia. *shudder*

Zombies, monkeys, realistic violence, and grubs/larvae.

Therefore, my greatest fear is that of zombie monkeys with guns that shoot grubs.

*hides under the table*

;D
