I like bats. We have a few who like to fly around the house. I enjoy sitting on the porch, watching one swoop by every few seconds.

The wife told me they're casting spells on me. She pointed out that they fly counter clock-wise.

It depends on whether you're looking down at the pattern or up. From above, they're going clockwise.

So, clock hands can cast spells too? I suppose a wall clock with a transparent back that you could hang with the face against the wall would be a dangerous thing. The hands would always appear to move counterclockwise. Evil.

We have friends in Ipswich, Mass. who put up several bat houses when they moved there - the mosquito population was horrid. It's still pretty bad, but the bats have definitely taken up residence and helped quite a bit. Maybe they cast their spells on the mosquitos...

Hmm...I realize most bats use they're powers to charm mosquitos before eating them. But I wonder if vampire bats would charm mosquitos to use as mindless slaves. I would think there would be a kinship between the creatures, given their choice of food.

Yeah, well I think she tells them to cast spells quite frequently. It's remarkable how attentively they listen to her when she's wearing that cloak.
