That's right, the ambient techno beats with gregorian chanting. Enigma's first album was and still is one of my favorites. After hearing Enigma, I wanted to find more ambient electronic music. One day I joined a few people for a roleplaying game. Playing softly in the background was Ministry's "Land of Rape and Honey." Being caught up in the game and the volume being low, I only really heard one of the more gentle tracks on the album which immediately triggered my desire to find Enigma-like music. So, with only a vague low-volume listen of one or two tracks from that Ministry album, I go out and buy it on impulse. I bring it home. Play it. It scares the piss out of me. Certainly not the Enigma-like music I was hoping for. Despite it continuing to scare the piss out of me, I kept listening to it. I loved it. Thus began my truly schizophrenic music taste...from liking Matthew Sweet & Ministry at the same time, to the more recent opposites of Tatu & Dillinger Escape Plan.
